From 6 to 8 October, the Serrería Belga Cultural Space will host MiraLookBooks, the first International Meeting of Publications Specialising in Contemporary Culture to be held in Spain. The event, which will bring together 90 publishing projects from 20 countries in the Americas, Europe and Africa, will place special emphasis on Spanish-language production.

Madrid thus becomes a city of reference for contemporary culture, where specialist publishers, museum bookshops, foundations, printers, distributors, designers, collectives and artists will share their work with other professionals and a cross-section of the general public.

MiraLookBooks gives priority to contemporary publishing creation produced in the Americas and opens up a channel of communication by forging closer links between the closest and the most distant offerings. In addition to the different national and international publishing offerings, this gathering will also attract other experimental practices that do not always achieve visibility in the usual spaces of consumption.

Exhibitions, presentations, concerts and much more

The event will also feature a packed programme of activities that are open to the general public, including an exhibition, talks and round tables, artist’s book presentations, workshops, concerts, performance art and sound actions, as well as live radio broadcasts, to name but a few.
